They are soft and limp and trusting. You're literally carrying the world and it's future as it sleeps on your shoulder.
When once their legs just barely reach past my chest, they now hang down past my waist.
I have found memories of my dad carrying me out to the car, wrapped in my blanket against the cold night air. That smell is still one of my favorite and most powerful memories.
Hopefully my kids will have some similiar reflections when they are grown. I know that I will never forget these moments.
